Obituary

LEICESTER;Donald E. Cocker, Sr. 76 of 150 Peter Salem Rd., died Friday April 16 at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. He was the husband of Dorothy M. (Stone) Cocker who died in 1999. He leaves three sons Thomas R. (Mary McCue) Cocker of Spencer, Kenneth P. (Maria) Cocker of Auburn and Donald E. Cocker, Jr. (Katherine Power) Cocker of Cherry Valley, four daughters Jennifer S. (Donald Caron) Renzoni of Brimfield, Sandra J. (Skip) Seymour of Leicester, Elizabeth M. (Russell) Brooks of Spencer and Tina M. Cocker of Fla., a brother Allison Cocker of Mt. Carmel, N.Y., two sisters Dorothy Butkevitch and Patricia Gordon both of Worcester, 14 grand, and 4 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by brothers, Harold and Robert Cocker and sisters Shirley Campbell, Jean O'Clair and Sue Vincequere.Mr. Cocker was a wire crimper at the former Concord Wire Co. in Worcester where he worked for more than 15 years, retiring in 1993. Previously he worked for Heffernan Press from 1948-75.He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School in Worcester. He was a Navy veteran of WWII and a member of the Cherry Valley American Legion Post 443. He was an avid outdoorsman and was a lifetime member of the Rutland Sportsman's Club. He enjoyed playing golf.Born in Worcester he was the son of Allison M. and Mary (Foster) Cocker.A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 19 in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home Monday between 9 and 10 a.m. Calling hours at the Morrison-Morin Funeral Home, 1131 Main St., Leicester are Sunday, April 18 from 4 to 7p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Central Ma.
