James B. Corlis, 67, of Amherst, NH died Sunday, April 29, 2012 at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born in Lynn, MA on March 10, 1945 a son of the late George A. and Doris (George) Corlis. Jim grew up in Wakefield, MA and N. Billerica, MA. He worked in the textile mills, ran two gas stations and an aluminum factory before getting in to the security business. Mr. Corlis retired from SM Investigations & Security as a Night Watchman. He was a devout Christian attending several churches since moving to New Hampshire and previously was an active member of the New England Bible Church in Andover, MA for over 30 years. He loved Newburyport, the 25 cent hot dog, a $5 cigar, sitting on the boardwalk and people watching.
He is survived by his six children, Cindy Corlis of Raymond, NH, Kenneth Corlis, Jean Corlis, and Debra Corlis, all of Rockland, ME, Robert Corlis of Derry, NH and Rachael Collins of Damascotta, ME, 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, one brother Murray Naugler of Orlando, FL and his companion Janet Johnson.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a memorial service to celebrate Jim’s life will be held on May 12th at 6pm in the New England Bible Church, Andover, MA. Memorial contributions may be made to the New England Bible Church, 60 Chandler Road, Andover, MA 01810.
