BOGGS, JOHN HERMAN SR., born in Louisville on April 14 1932, died Friday, April 27, 2012 at Brownsboro-Norton Hospital following a long illness.
He was a member of Jamestown First Baptist Church and was employed by the Illinois Central Railroad for 42 years and retired to Jamestown, KY. Mr. Boggs was a loving husband and devoted father.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty Zane Franklin Boggs; five children, Nancy Lee Marrs (Myron), Rachel Suzanne Walker, DebbieJo Coyle (Dan), John Herman Boggs, Jr. (Dianna), and Marvin Daniel Boggs (Arden); two sisters, Elsie Jo Burdette and Lillie Connard. Mr. Boggs took tremendous pride and found great joy in his eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with burial in Clarkson Cemetery in Clarkson, KY. Visitation will be Tuesday, noon-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
