Sis. Betty Ruth Bolton McMillan, 70, of Lenox died Sunday, April 29, 2012, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at New River Free Holiness Church in Lenox. Bro. A. D. Connell, Bro. Dean Bowling and Bro. Nick Hensley will officiate with burial to follow in New River Free Holiness Church Cemetery in Lenox. Tommy Hays, Wayne Hays, Shawn Grantham, Brian McGhee, Mack Brown and Clay Connell will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Travis Brown and Ken Trice. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 30, 2012, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Sis. McMillan will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Sis. Betty was born on January 8, 1942 in Tazewell, TN and was the daughter of Robert Clinton Bolton and Carrie Carmon Bolton, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bro. James Oscar McMillan; two brothers, James Hillard Bolton and Audie Lee Bolton; and one sister, Louie Jane Martinez. Sis. Betty was of the Free Holiness faith and attended New River Free Holiness. She was a member of the United States Women’s Army Corps. Most of her life she spent raising her children and helping her husband in the concrete constructing business in Florida. Her later years were spent joyously serving the Lord. Recently, she and her husband retired happily to Georgia.
Sis. McMillan is survived by one daughter and one son-in-law, Sheila Diane Carrie and Tommy Hays of Seffner, FL; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jacques Oscar McMillan of Tampa, FL and James Aaron and Sara McMillan of St. Petersburg, FL; four grandchildren, Wayne and Carrie Hays and Shawn and Kayla Grantham; one sister and brother-in-law, Naomi and Otis Treece of Plainfield, IL; and five sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, Delores McGhee of Tifton, Theda Goddard of Tampa, FL, Marcia Thornton of Meansville, Angela and Tom Dove of Lenox and Deborah Ramaley of Rapid City, SD.
