Obituary

Worcester – Elizabeth (O’Hara) Fitzpatrick, 82, of Worcester, died peacefully on April 29th in the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence after an illness.

Mrs. Fitzpatrick was married for 36 years to George F. Fitzpatrick Jr. who died in 1991. She is survived by three sons, Dennis Fitzpatrick and his wife Andrea of West Boylston, MA, Paul Fitzpatrick and his wife Joan of Rome, NY and William Fitzpatrick and his wife Kerry of Worcester; four daughters, Rosemary Flynn and her husband Kevin of Charlton, Margaret Ernst and her companion Steven Cole of Manchester, CT, Jean Chisholm and her husband Stephen of Springfield, MA and Lynda Marc-Aurele and her husband John of Leicester; a brother, Philip O’Hara of Florida; a sister, Ruth Manna of Georgia; 17 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.

Bette was born in Worcester, daughter of the late William and Beatrice (Burnes) O’Hara and is graduate of South High School.

She worked for Our Lady of the Angels Church and enjoyed reading and knitting as well as being a dedicated Boston sports fan, especially to the Boston Red Sox. Mrs. Fitzpatrick will be remembered by her family as a kind, loving and supportive mother who had a special love in her heart for all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who affectionately knew her as “Mema”

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 2nd from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church 1222 Main St. Burial will follow in Saint John’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 1st from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Angels Church Building Fund 1222 Main St. Worcester, MA 01603.
