Jimmy Stone, Sr., 74, of Macon, Georgia passed away on Friday, April 27, 2012 in the Medical Center of Central Georgia, Macon, GA following an extended illness. Mr. Stone was born on November 15, 1937 to the late Claude and Addie Wooten Stone in Denton, GA. He was preceded in death by a two brothers: Harvey Stone and Emory Stone and one sister: Doris Fletcher. Mr. Stone was a retired truck driver for Rider Trucking Line and he was employed as a greeter with Walmart.
Funeral services will be held on Monday. April 30, 2012 in the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, GA at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Justin Moriarty officiating. Interment will follow in the DeBerry Church Cemetery.
Survivors include: wife: Geraldine Spires Stone; son: Jimmy Stone, Jr., Jacksonville, FL; daughters: Renae Brainard and Hailie Crumpton both of Macon, GA; 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; brothers: Vyrlin Stone, Ambrose, GA and Claude Stone, Jr., Denton, GA; sisters: Iva King, Waycross, GA, Shirley Caves, West Green, GA, Linda Smith, Hazlehurst, GA and Sandra Moody, Hazlehurst, GA.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 29, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
