Methuen, Ma. – Phyllis (Laycock) Dorsey 82 yrs died April 27, 2012 at the Lawrence General Hospital. Mrs. Dorsey was born January 16, 1930 in Lawrence, Ma the daughter of William and Harriet (Wholey) Laycock and was a graduate of Lawrence High School.
Phyllis was a former manager of the Membership Department at AAA in Lawrence before her retirement there.
She was a longtime resident of Methuen and in Lawrence a longtime member of the United Methodist Church and sang in the Church choir. Mrs. Dorsey belonged to the AAA retirees and traveled with sister and brother-inlaw. Phyllis enjoyed the holiday’s and spending time with her family.
Before his death in 1980 Phyllis was married to her best friend and husband of many years Melvin Dorsey and is currently survived by children Rhonda and her husband Richard Paolino of Derry, NH, Pamela and husband Stephen Hill of Lunenburg, Ma. one sister Mary and her husband Dr. William Kiernan of Salem, NH, one brother William Laycock of Salem, NH, 3 grandchildren; Nicholas Paolino, Dorsey Hill, and Daniel Hill and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be warmly received on Monday from 4-8 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday morning at 10 o’clock at the funeral home with the Rev. Jeremiah A. Peters officiating.
