Obituary

Frances Hogan Dismuke, 85, of Irwin County died April 25, 2012 at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M., Saturday, April 28, 2012 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sonny Pate and the Rev. Wayne McCrimmon officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Friday evening at the funeral home.

Mrs. Dismuke was born December 26, 1926 in Irwin County to the late John Frank and Rosa Lee Wishum Hogan. She was a bookkeeper and payroll clerk for White Pest Control and Irwin Manufacturing. Mrs. Dismuke was a former hostess at Colony House Restaurant. For 15 years, she served as a Pink Lady at Dorminy Medical Center where she was president of the DMC Auxiliary. She was also a state board member for the Pink Lady organization. Mrs. Dismuke was a member of Working Hands and Praying Hearts where she made pillows for cancer patients. She enjoyed volunteering to help others. She was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law: Dr. Gail Dismuke of Statesboro, GA; two grandsons: Franklin Dismuke of Statesboro and Robby Dismuke of Bluffton, SC; a granddaughter: Kimbie D. & Patrick Brown of Swainsboro, GA; and three great-grandchildren: Robert Parker “Bo” Brown, Lexsy Elizabeth Brown, and Ava Jean Dismuke. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Cornell Dismuke and her son: Johnny Dismuke.
