Marcel R. "Mike" Chamberlain, 76, of Derry, NH, died Wednesday, April 25, 2012 in his home. He was born in Manchester, NH on April 23, 1936, a son of the late James and Merilda (Camire) Chamberlain. He was a resident of Derry for the past six years, formerly living in Manchester. Mike served his country in the Army, the Navy and the Air Force. Over the years, Mike was an apprentice plumber with Tillson Plumbing and Heating, co-owned a gas station and Superior Vending, co-owned and operated Taylor Rental in Manchester, and retired from Aubuchon Hardware. He enjoyed volunteering at the Upper Room in Derry, fishing, rooting for his favorite New England sports teams, family vacations at Stinson Lake, tending his vegetable garden, and enjoyed the company of his faithful dog Charlie.
He is survived by two daughters, Cathy Chamberlain -Taylor and her husband Bob of Derry, and Allison Chamberlain of Derry; one son, David Chamberlain and his wife Karen of Hooksett, NH; one granddaughter, Stephanie L. Field of Derry; and one sister, Pauline Veilleux of Goffstown, NH. He was predeceased by a son, James Chamberlain, and six brothers.
Calling hours were held on Monday, April 30th from 5 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 1:00pm in the funeral home.
