Obituary

Lois Harp Bass, 78, of Irwin County, Georgia, died Thursday, April 26, 2012, at the Irwin County Hospital in Ocilla.

Funeral services will be held at 4 PM, Saturday, April 28 at Pinetta Baptist Church with Rev. David Barton officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Friday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.

Mrs. Bass was born May 31, 1933 in Dooly County, Georgia to the late Isaac Franklin and Daisy Mae Craig Harp. She was a former threading machine operator at the Cotton Mill and Fitzgerald Underwear. She lived in Irwin County since 1989 moving from Tifton. Mrs. Bass was a member of Pinetta Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Terri & Jeff Brinson of Ochlocknee and son-in-law: Larry G. Busbin of Irwin County; grandchildren: Patrick Patterson, Jason & Kelli Patterson, Jeffrey & Tina Brinson, and De & Kathy Busbin, great grandchildren: Robbie Patterson, Garrett Patterson and Kelsey Brinson; sisters: Mary & Paul Wisenbaker of Valdosta, Laura & Bob Baker of Hendersonville, NC, June & Lamar Pyles and Evelyn & Lee McDaniel, all of Tifton, Virginia & Marion Blankenship of Ocilla, and Judy Garren of TyTy; brother: Allen & Jeanie Harp of Anderson City; and a sister-in-law: Net Harp of Tifton. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: James M. Bass in November 2011; a daughter: Vera Busbin; a grandson: Todd Busbin; a brother: George Harp; and a brother-in-law: Tony Garren.
