John G. Brooks, 98, a longtime Boston lawyer nationally recognized as a leader in improving access to legal services for the poor died at his home in Weston under the care and comfort of his family on April 15, 2012. Husband of the late Miriam Phillips (Littlefield) Brooks who died in 1998. Survivors are Miriam Phillips Hall-Wunderlich and her husband Tom Wunderlich of Cambridge; Dr. John G. Brooks and his wife Dr. Christina L. Brooks of Sunapee, NH and Vero Beach, FL; Christopher R. Brooks and his wife Louisa Williams of West Tisbury; Sarah H. Brooks of Weston and Dr.
W. Blair Brooks and his wife Dr. Nancy Philips of Norwich, VT. Brother of Charlotte Brooks Read of Concord and brother-in-law of Dr. John W. Littlefield of Cockeysville, MD. Also survived by 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 8 nieces and ten nephews. A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held Sunday, May 6, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the First Parish of Weston, 349 Boston Post Rd, Weston, MA.
