LOWELL - James M. Donovan, age 57, a longtime resident of Tewksbury, died peacefully on Monday morning, April 23, after a long period of declining health.
He was born in Brighton, August 1954, a son of the late Albert and Alice (Collins) Donovan, but lived the greater part of his life in Tewksbury. He graduated from Tewksbury Memorial High School with the class of 1974.
James was a self-employed plumber.
He enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping with his children
He is survived by two sons, Matthew Donovan of IL, and Stephen Donovan of GA; a brother, Paul Donovan, of Lowell, with whom he had resided for the past 3 years; two sisters, Diane Donovan of Lowell, Linda Stumpf and her husband Robert of Townsend; an uncle and aunts, and several nieces and nephews.
He was also father of the late James Donovan, U.S.M.C., who died in Iraq; and brother of the late Stephen Donovan and Timothy Donovan.
His Funeral Mass was Celebrated Saturday, April 28, in St. William's Church, Tewksbury. Burial was in St. Mary Cemetery, No. Tewksbury.
