Obituary

DANVERS - Christine Ann (Tufts) Beveridge, 66, of Danvers, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend, wife of Alan C. Beveridge, died Sunday, April 15, 2012 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers, following a courageous battle with cancer and surrounded by her family.

Daughter of Barbara (Hames) Tufts of Danvers, and the late Robert Tufts, she was born in Salem, raised in New York at West Point and later moved back to Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School with the class of 1965. She has been an active member of her class reunion committee since the planning of the first class reunion in 1970. Chris has been a communicant of the St. Mary of the Annunciation Church since moving to Danvers in 1971.

Chris worked at Natural Wonders and at Cheers, both at the Northshore Mall, Peabody. She and her husband of 44 years, retired in 1997and enjoyed going out to eat and the time spent at Tuftonboro, NH, on the lake with family and friends.

Besides her husband and her mother, she is survived by one son, Brad and his wife Lisa Beveridge, of Mirror Lake, NH, two grandsons, Austin Beveridge of Mirror Lake, NH and Blake Storm, of Danvers, who was raised by Chris and Al and whom they looked upon as their son, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert & Joan Tufts of Osprey, FL, Stephen & Diane Tufts of Calabash, NC, two sisters, Elizabeth Tufts of Alpharetta, GA, Paula and her husband Michael Youngman of Danville, VT, a sister-in-law, Chris and her husband Gordon Gissel of South Hampton, NH and numerous beloved nieces, nephews and friends. She was the mother of the late Laura Larocque and sister of the late Michael Tufts.

A Visitation will be held Monday, May 7 from 4 to 8 pm at the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem. A Memorial mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at 11 am at the St. Mary of The Annunciation Church, Conant St., Danvers. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
