Betty Manley passed away at home on April 21, 2012. She was 86 years old.
Born in Iowa, Betty was a life long resident of Malden for 62 years. Betty was an original founder of the Ward 3 Fourth of July Committee. A lot of the equipment, such as the swings, was stored in her garage. Betty was a farm girl with a strong will. She was a talented lady who crocheted all her own blankets, doilies and curtains.
Betty was the devoted wife of the late Lawrence J. Manley, her husband of 29 years. She was the beloved mother of Robert Manley of Malden, Charlene Marino and her husband Michael of Medford and Edward Manley and his wife Bonnie of Virginia Beach, VA. She was the dear sister of Evelyn Picardi of East Boston and late Charles Lenius and the cherished grandmother of 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Wednesday, April 25 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. followed by interment in Forest Dale Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
