Methuen, Ma. – Norma W. (Wilson) Couture, 81, died Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen.
She was a lifelong resident of Methuen, graduating from Methuen’s Edward F. Searles High in 1947. She earned a nursing diploma from the Lawrence General Hospital School of Nursing in 1950, a bachelor of science from Lowell University in 1977, a master of science in nursing from Boston University in 1980 and was certified as a clinical nurse specialist.
She formerly worked for the Lawrence General Hospital, the former Bon Secours Hospital, the Northeast Rehabilitation Hospital, and a local physician. Most recently, she was a clinical instructor for Northern Essex Community College, retiring in 1997. She was a member of several nursing and educational organizations.
She leaves two sons, John M. of Methuen and Steven R. of Lancaster, NH, and one daughter, Jeanne S. and her husband Thomas J. Murphy of Methuen.
At the request of the family, all services will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc., 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen. Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
