FRANKLIN—Catherine M. (Casey) Sorrentino 81, of Franklin, died peacefully, Wednesday April 18, 2012 at the Clark House in Westwood, following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Edward M. Sorrentino who died in August 2011.
Born in Boston, September 29, 1930, a daughter of the late John and Catherine (Sullivan) Casey, she was a resident of Franklin for the past 15 years, and was a former longtime resident of the Jamaica Plain section of Boston.
Catherine was raised and educated in Boston, and was a graduate of Mission High School. Until her retirement several years ago, she worked as a secretary for the Boston Public Schools.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, Cape Cod, traveling and knitting. A daily communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Franklin, she was also part of the prayer shall ministry and was a member of the Catholic Women’s Club.
Catherine is survived by her children; John E. Sorrentino and his wife Cheryl of New York, James M. Sorrentino and his companion Leonora Burr of Quincy, Richard P. Sorrentino and his wife Katrina of Quincy, 3 daughters Jean M. Carney of Westwood, Ann C. Wright and her husband Stephen of Old Lyme, Connecticut, and Janet A. Sorrentino of California. She also leaves her brothers John Casey of Walpole and Francis Casey of Quincy.
She also leaves her grandchildren; Michael, Matthew, Courtney, James Catlin, Leah, Hannah and Brendan, and one great grandson Ryan.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Saturday April 21st, at 11:45AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin, www.oterifuneralhome.com, with a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. at 12:30PM.
Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Franklin.
Calling hours are Friday April 20th, from 4-8PM.
