Obituary

Anthony J. “Tony” Porcella, 87, of Natick died peacefully on April 16, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Doris M. (Sebastian) Porcella with whom he shared 63 years of marriage.

Born in East Boston, where he was raised and educated, he was the son of the late Vincenzo and Constantina (Gaeta) Porcella. He served with the 6994th Guard Company of the United States Army during WWII. He participated in the D-Day Invasion landing on Omaha Beach. Upon returning from military duty Tony married Doris and together they made their home in Natick. He had a life long career as a machinist and retired as sales manager from the Healard Machine Company in Holliston.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Porcella is survived by 8 children, Anne M. Peterson of Framingham, Stephen J. Porcella of San Antonio, TX, Jane P. Theriault of Easton, Susan P. Anderson of Natick, Nancy P. Cassidy of Framingham, Elaine M. Alanis of Spring, TX, Diane C. Porcella of Antwerp, Belgium, and Jeanne M. Holihan of Natick. He is the cherished “Bumpa” to 17 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, and is also survived by his sister Carmela Barnes of Chelmsford.

Mr. Porcella’s family will receive visitors on Saturday, April 21, 2012 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street (Natick Common), Natick.
