Margaret J. (Gordon) Borden age 101 of Salem, NH, died Tuesday at Salemhaven Nursing Home, Salem, NH
She was born in Lawrence, MA and lived in Methuen, MA and Salem, NH, for most of her life.
She worked for many years in the Alteration Dept. of Cherry & Webb in Lawrence, the Arlington Mills office in Lawrence, and at Osgood Mills in No. Andover in the wool testing section.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Salem, NH, where she was a member of the Philathea Club. She loved sewing and making her own clothes for her family. She loved gardening, enjoyed trips, and spending her winter months with a group of relatives and friends in Myrtle Beach, SC.
She was predeceased by her husband Wilfred A. Borden and Sisters, Ethel Drescher, and Bessie Gordon.
She leaves a Niece Joan Emmert, Grand Nephew Jay R. Emmert, Grand Nieces Janice Hoehn and Jeanne Archibald and her children, Amanda, & Derek all of Hampstead, NH. Cousin James “Sandy” Gordon of Haverhill, MA, and several other nieces & nephews
Calling hours will be Friday, April 20th from 1-3 PM, followed by a funeral service at 3 PM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. Cremation will follow. Urn burial will be private for the family in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen.
