Mrs. Marcia Doris (Meunier) Paling, of Cicero, N.Y., formerly of New Bedford, passed away peacefully on April 15th in New York following a period of failing health. She was born 71 years ago in Taunton, the daughter of Lorraine Y. (Gallant) Meunier and the late Roger Meunier. She was educated in Taunton and had been a New Bedford resident for a number of years prior to moving to Cicero 7 months ago. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Paul A. Dever State School. Marcia enjoyed knitting, crosstitching, and was a devoted Boston Red Sox fan. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her six grandchildren. She was a communicant of the former St. Jacques Church in Taunton.
In addition to her mother, of East Taunton, she leaves: 3 daughters: Lisa DeSousa and her husband, Nuno of Syracuse, N.Y., Gretchen Hubert and her husband, Peter of Windham, N.H., and Gina Huffman and her husband, Albert of East Boston; 1 brother: Gerald Meunier and his wife, Helen of Taunton; 1 sister: Suzanne Hickey and her husband, John of Raynham; 6 grandchildren: Max and Mallory DeSousa both of Syracuse, N.Y., Grace and Samuel Hubert both of Windham, N.H., and Logan and London Huffman both of East Boston, and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated in St. Jude the Apostle Church, 249 Whittenton Street, Taunton, on Friday, April 20 at 12:00 Noon. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN., 38148-0142. Arrangements are under the direction of The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home of Taunton.
