Edward P. Suplicki, 69, of Mystic passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
Edward was born in Paterson, NJ on January 15, 1943, the son of Edward and Dorothea Suplicki. He married Judith (Barrows) Suplicki on July 1, 1967, a devoted marriage which they shared for almost 45 years. He enlisted in the Navy in 1961. While in the Navy he attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio where he received a bachelor's degree in Physics and was commissioned as an Ensign. Edward retired from the US Navy at the rank of Lieutenant Commander after proudly serving for 22 years. He later worked as a Navy contractor, retiring from DDL Omni in 2007.
Edward is survived by his wife Judie and two daughters; Elaine Lettiere and her husband, Daniel of Mystic and Pamela Suplicki of Groton, and his beloved granddaughter, Anna Lettiere. He is also survived by his brother Anthony Suplicki and his wife, Georgeanne, his sister, Regina, and his sister Celia Dyr and her husband Richard, and two nieces and two nephews.
His family will greet relatives and friends at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Rte. 12, Gales Ferry on Wednesday from 5:30 - 7pm. A Celebration of life service will follow at 7pm. Burial will be in the Connecticut Veteran's Cemetery, Middletown. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Smile Train, 41 Madison Ave., 28th Floor, New York NY 10010.
