Donald E. ‘Donnie’ Burlingame, Jr., 63, of Old Worcester Rd., passed away Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge.
He leaves his wife of almost 42 years, Susan D. (Shippee) Burlingame, two sons; Colonel Brian S. Burlingame and his wife Allison of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Joshua J. Burlingame and his fiancée Jennifer Ricker of Charlton, 4 grandchildren, two brothers; Earl Burlingame of New York and Douglas Burlingame of Ct., four sisters; Joan wife of William Cobb and Marjorie wife of Ken Sanford both of Florida, Dolores Wetherbee of New York and Amy wife of William Catron of Charlton and many nieces & nephews.
Donnie was born in Charlton, a son of Donald E. and Arlene (Sherman) Burlingame, Sr. and lived here all his life.
He was predeceased by a brother Kenneth and a sister Dolly Burlingame.
Donnie was a Vietnam Army Veteran.
He was the foreman for the Town of Charlton Highway Department for many years and retired in 2002.
Calling Hours for Donnie will be Thursday, April 19, 2012 from 5 to 8 PM at the Robert J. Miller-Charlton Funeral Home, 175 Old Worcester Rd.
A Graveside Service will be Friday, April 20, 2012 at 10 AM at West Ridge Cemetery in Charlton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans Charity of ones choice.
