Joseph Connell, 48, of Mansfield, formerly of Foxboro, passed away unexpectedly at home, on Saturday April 14, 2012
Born in Boston, MA on April 23, 1963, he was a loving son of Mary T. (McGovern) Connell of Mansfield and the late John J. Connell.
Joe grew up in Mansfield and was a member of the Mansfield High School Class of 1981. He had moved back to Mansfield 4 years ago after living and raising his family in Foxboro for 18 years.
An entrepreneur, Mr. Connell was also a musician and song writer, and was a former lead guitarist in several area bands.
A communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield, Joe loved nature, photography, the beach and ocean, and particularly the freedom of the road, while riding his motorcycle.
While raising his family in Foxboro, he was very involved with his children’s activities which included coaching football and soccer.
In addition to his loving mother, he is survived by his devoted children; Ian J. Connell, Alanna A. Connell and Briana A. Connell all of Foxboro. He was the dear brother of Michael Connell of Mansfield, Timothy Connell of Pawtucket and Susan M. Scott of Taunton. He was the former husband of Lori A. (Carpeno) Connell of Foxboro and is also survived by several dear aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
His Funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Saturday April 21st at 10:30 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday April 20th from 5-8 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
In lieu if flowers, Joe’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the Connell Children’s Educational Fund, care of Mansfield Bank, 80 North Main St., Mansfield, MA 02048.
