Mrs. Theresa A. (Desroche) Mathews, 81, died Friday at Mary Immaculate Nursing and Restorative Center. Born in Lawrence, Mrs. Mathews had been an area resident all her life. The Daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Boissonneau) Desroche. She worked at Jo-Gal Shoe Company as a stitcher. Mrs. Mathews was a life long member of the former St. Anne Parish and enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, and playing bingo. She also had an extensive collection of angel statues. The widow of Raymond L. Mathews she is survived by one daughter, Louise and her husband Donald Doucette of Lawrence and one brother, Emile Desroche of Methuen. There are two grandchildren Dawn and Douglas Doucette and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 am on Wednesday at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, St. Theresa Church, burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
