Worcester-Carole A. (Ciano) Sylvester, 61, died Wednesday, April 14, in the UMASS Memorial Medical Center Belmont St. Campus, after an illness
She leaves her husband of 38 years, William A. Sylvester, three sons, Derek A. Sylvester and Craig S. Sylvester both of Worcester and Geoff E. Sylvester of Woburn; her father, Alfred Ciano of Falmouth; three grandchildren and a niece. A sister Joan Ellis predeceased her. She was born in Somerville, daughter of Nancy (DiNitto) Sylvester.
She was a shift supervisor at the Ames Department Store for several years, before retiring, previously she was a teacher at the Joslin School in Oxford. She graduated from Boston University. She was the past president of the Gates Lane School P.T.O.
The funeral will be held Monday, April 19, at 11 a.m. in the Hadwen Park Congregational Church 6 Clover St. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Hope Cemetery.
