MILLIS- Raymond E. Melo 69, of Millis, died peacefully, at his home with his family at his side Friday April 13, 2012 due to complications of M.S. He was the husband of Mary A. (Rafter) Melo.
Born March 7, 1943 in Milford, a son of the late Frank A. and Lilyan A. (Pierce) Melo, he was a resident of Millis for the past 44 years, and was a former resident of Franklin.
Raymond was educated in the Franklin schools, and continued his education at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where he received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in 1964. He was a retired computer programmer for the Foxboro Company, where he worked for over 45 years.
He enjoyed Sudoku, bridge, and cooking. He also treasured time spent in Chatham with his family.
Raymond was a member of the Hannah Adams Bridge Group in Medfield. He was also a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Millis.
In addition to his wife of 45 years, he is survived by a daughter Suzanne M. Udell and her husband Jeffrey of Bedford, a brother Frank E. Melo of Arizona, a sister Beverly A. Melo of Millis and a granddaughter Claire A. Udell.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Saturday April 21st, at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin, www.oterifuneralhome.com, with a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. at 10AM.
His interment will be held privately.
