Barbara Ann (Gualtieri) D'Arcangelo, of Medford, died peacefully at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She was 79.
Born and raised in East Boston, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore and the late Catherine (Oliva) Gualtieri. Barbara graduated from the Lawrence Memorial School of Nursing in 1975 and worked there at the hospital as a nursing assistant for several years. From 1981 up to 1992 she was a public housing assistant for the secretariat of Housing and Urban Development. Devoted to her family, Barbara enjoyed the company of her relatives and friends.
The beloved wife of the late Cosmo A. D’Arcangelo, she was a devoted mother to RoseAnn C. Gibbons and her husband Stephen A. Gibbons of Medford and the late Joseph E. D’Arcangelo. She was a dear mother-in-law to Mary Jane D’Arcangelo of Wilmington and a loving grandmother to Brandon J. D’Arcangelo. She was also a dear sister to Mary McDonald of Malden, Frances Bradford of Reading and the late Theresa Breen, Anna DelSignore, Salvatore, Gaetano and John Gualtieri.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family on Monday April 16th from noon until 1 PM at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, with a funeral service in the funeral home at 1 PM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
