TAUNTON - Mary C. (Aguiar) Boughner, 87, died at Morton Hospital & Medical Center on April 12, 2012, surrounded by her family.
Born in Dighton, she was the daughter of the late John and Angela (Caldeira) Aguiar.
Raised in Taunton, Mrs. Boughner attended both Taunton Public Schools and St. Mary’s High School.
After marrying, she moved many times, living in California, Alabama and Florida with her family, as the wife of a career naval officer, her late husband, Clayton T. Boughner.
After years of supporting her husband’s service, she returned back home to Taunton to sink her roots.
From young adulthood until illness, Mary was part of a thriving Taunton workforce working at Ansonia Mills, New Jersey Rubber, Eureka, and Becker Packaging.
Mary was a thoughtful, kind woman remembering all birthdays even her new friends from Prime Time that were each acknowledged with a card.
She had a feisty sense of humor and the grace of acceptance and deep empathy.
She always had something to say, because she was truly engaged in life.
Mary was loved and will be dearly missed by many.
Survivors include three sons, David J. Long and his wife Patricia of Tustin Ranch, CA, Timothy P. Boughner and his wife Teresa of Waltham, Robert C. Boughner and his wife, Linda of Dighton; two daughters, Jeanne M. Boughner and partner Ronda Cushman of Taunton, and Patricia A. Boughner and her partner Stephen Almeida of Taunton; a brother, John P. Aguiar of Rehoboth and Port Charlotte, FL; three sisters, Gilda Michael of St. Petersburg, FL, Gabriella Moura and Lucille Duquet, both of Taunton.
She also leaves six grandchildren, Keith Long, Kurt Long and his wife Erica, Kyle Long his wife Karen, Jillian Boughner, and Zachary and Emma Boughner; two great grandchildren, Ethan and Kayden Long; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Monday, April 16th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Andrew the Apostle Church at 10 a.m.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, April 15th from 3 to 6 p.m.
Mary’s cremains will be buried privately at St. Joseph Cemetery at a later time.
