TAUNTON – Ida R. (Rose) Crowninshield, wife of the late Joseph J. Crowninshield, died at Life Care Center of West Bridgewater, on April 7, 2012.
She was 83.
Born, raised, and educated in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Antone and Mary (Almeida) Rose.
She was employed as a L.P.N. at the former Paul Dever State School for over forty years. She was also a union official for thirty five years, taking great pride in her position and receiving a number of awards.
Mrs. Crowninshield enjoyed and cherished time with her grandchildren.
She leaves a son, Joseph J. “Skip” Crowninshield and his wife Beverly of Raynham; a brother, Anthony Rose and his wife Del of Berkley; two sisters, Mary Motte of Dighton, Margaret Vieira of Swansea; two granddaughters, Shannon Burnham and her husband Wade, and Stacey Torres and her husband Steven, all of Taunton; four great grandchildren, Kayla Pacheco, Trevor and Troy Torres, Matthew Burnham; a great great grandchild, Brandyn Burnham; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Madeline Matarese.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, on Wednesday April 11th at 9a.m., followed by a funeral mass at Holy Family Church at 11a.m.
Burial will be at Cedar Knoll Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday morning, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., prior to the mass.
