CHICOPEE - Alice E. (Knightly) Bruso, 59, of Chicopee was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, April 4, 2012. She passed into Eternal Life at Holyoke Medical Center surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Spokane, Washington on April 30, 1952, a beloved daughter of Theresa D. Spooner of Chicopee and the late Robert Knightly. She was raised in the Fairview section of Chicopee, attended local schools and was a lifelong resident of the city. Alice was employed for 33 years as a switchboard operator at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. She leaves her loving children, Shannon A. Bruso and her fiancé, Matthew W. MacPhail, Bethany P. Bruso-Burl and Jeremy H. Bruso and his wife, Lindsay, all of Chicopee; her four cherished grandchildren whom she adored, Cloie Burl, Noah Earl Fels, Madison Bruso and Cole Bruso; and her soul mate, Robert A. Bruso of Chicopee . The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 12, 2012 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a Celebration of her Life to be held at 6 p.m. at Lifepoint Church, 603 New Ludlow Road, Chicopee, MA 01020. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
