TEWKSBURY, MA: Ruth A. (Hayes)(Lemieux)Hurd, age 93, died Tuesday, April 13, 2004 at Saints Memorial Medical Center in Lowell, MA.
She was the widow of Frederick C. Hurd and Alphonse C. Lemieux.
She was born in North Berwick, Maine on January 16, 1911, the daughter f the late Fred and Edna (Patterson) Hayes.
Mrs. Hurd attended North Berwick schools and later attended McIntosh Business School.
In 1931, she moved to Lawrence, MA where she lived for over 40 years.
Mrs. Hurd later moved to Chester, NH in 1974 and attended St. Jerome’s Church.
In February of 2000, she relocated to Tewksbury, MA.
Mrs. Hurd was a former member of the Chester, NH Grange.
She enjoyed reading, sewing and volunteering at area nursing homes and hospitals.
She is survived by 1 son; J. Robert Lemieux and his wife Genevieve (Sefsick) of Tewksbury; 1 daughter; Marilyn E. Findlay and her husband Robert of Verona Island, ME; 1 sister; Eva Haley of Rowley; 11 grandchildren; David, Dana, Todd, Scott and James Lemieux, Donald Fossett, Lisa Fairbanks, Brenda Sinclair, Cathy Carter, Linda Kelton, and Steve Sobel; 19 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren.
Mrs. Hurd was the grandmother of the late Barry R. Lemieux.
Calling hours Friday 5-8 p.m. at the FARMER & DEE FUNERAL HOME, 16 LEE ST., TEWKSBURY. Funeral Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home. Funeral Mass Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Williams Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Andover.
