Mario M. Cesarini age 81 of Brockton, died Thursday April 5, 2012 at St. Joseph Manor following a period of failing health. Mario was born in Brockton a son of the late Marino and Arminia (DiMaria) Cesarini and remained lifelong resident of the city. During the Korean Conflict Mario served in the US Army.
For many years, Mario had been employed at Eastern Edison in their maintenance department. He had also worked for the Brockton Enterprise and in his retirement worked at Stop & Shop on Belmont Street. In his free time Mario enjoyed drawing, watching the Red Sox, and music, especially big band. He had a great appetite for good food and he also enjoyed playing sports and bowling. Most of all, he cherished his time with family. Mario will be remembered as an enthusiastic and proud father and grandfather.
Mario is survived by his three children Richard Cesarini of Brockton, Nancy Sullivan and her husband, Dennis, and Marino Cesarini of Holbrook. He was the proud grandfather of Jacquelyn Cesarini, USMC; Rachel Cesarini, and Maria and Joseph Sullivan. He was the brother of Elmira Willis of Brockton and the late Nancy Niccoli, Guy Cesarini, and Anita Ferrazzoli. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Monday 4-8 pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home on Tuesday at 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 10:30 am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
