Obituary

Amelia M. (Ionta) Chartier 94, died peacefully Sunday April 1, 2012 in the Friendly Home.
She was the wife of the late Alpherie Chartier. Mrs. Chartier was born in Manchaug, MA, a daughter of the late John and Theresa (Cacciapuoti) Ionta.
She was a stitcher for the Ark Garment Co. for many years, retiring in 1966.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting, bingo and bus trips to Atlantic City.
Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and sharing stories of the old days. She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure to know her.

Mrs. Chartier is survived by three children; John Chartier of Woonsocket, Louise Dionne of Jacksonville, FL, and Michael Chartier of Blackstone, eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her sisters; Elizabeth Dawley of Plainfield, CT, and Eleanore Ionta of Moosup, CT. She was also the sister of the late Nicholas Yonta, Louis Yonta, and Delore Ionta.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday April 9th, at 10:00AM in All Hallows Church, 130 Prospect St., Moosup, CT. The family will receive guests beginning at 9:30AM prior to the Mass. Interment will follow in All Hallows Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: The Friendly Home Activities Dept., 303 Rhodes Ave, Woonsocket, RI 02895.
