Edith E. (Kulish) Smiarowski, 91, of Framingham, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at the Kathleen Daniel Nursing Home in Framingham where she resided for the past 2 ½ years. She was the wife of Charles F. Smiarowski who died in 1985.
Born in South Boston on November 29, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Sophie (Sobolewski) Kulish.
A longtime resident of Medway, Mrs. Smiarowski graduated from Medway High School in 1939 and moved to Framingham in 1978. She was a homemaker for many years and had previously worked at Dennison Manufacturing in Framingham from 1948 -1959 and at Telecron in Ashland during WWII.
Mrs. Smiarowski loved drawing and writing poetry and had a poetry column in the Kathleen Daniel’s Newsletter. In her younger days, she enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, boating and fishing and was an avid dancer.
Mrs. Smiarowski cherished the company of relatives and friends.
She is survived by her daughter June M. Smiarowski of Framingham and two cousins, Helen Pratt and Sophie Sharkovitz, both of Medway and their families.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Tuesday, April 10 from the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, 151 Village St. in Medway at 10 a.m.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Medway.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4 – 7 p.m.
