Norbert P. “Charlie” Ponte, Jr., 51, of Westport, died Sunday, April 1, 2012 at home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Lynda “Lyn” (Nicolau) Ponte.
Son of Norbert P. Ponte and his wife Marion of Westport and Theresa M. (Capone) Dias of Westport and Daniel Dias of Tiverton, Mr. Ponte was a lifelong resident of Westport. He worked for Global Glass Co. of Fall River. He was a member of the Fall River Bowling Green Fishing Club and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Besides his loving wife and parents, Mr. Ponte is survived by 2 sons: Ian P. Ponte of Westport and Kevin M. Ponte and his wife Jamie of Westport; 2 daughters: Emilee Carlson of Westport and Danielle Spencer and her husband James of Marstons Mills, MA; 2 brothers: Michael D. Ponte and his wife Sandi of Wareham and Stephen R. Ponte and his wife Shelley of Westport; 8 grandchildren: Ashley, Mackenzy, Jolie, Maigan, Cole, Addison, Elliana, Brody and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Ponte was the brother of the late Linda Dupont.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at 6:30 P.M. at the POTTER FUNERAL HOME, 81 Reed Rd., Westport, MA 02790.
Calling hours 4:00 – 6:30 P.M. prior to the service.
Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
