McCarthy, Paul E., of Marshfield, 64, entered into rest March 3l, 20l2, after a long illness. Beloved husband for 42 years of Patricia A. (Masdea) McCarthy. Dear son-in-law of Evelyn Masdea. Loving father of Cheryl Lucchetti and her husband Jason of Marshfield and Sean McCarthy of Carver and his fiancée Jennifer. Proud and loving grandfather of Ryan, Devin, and Maxwell. Son of the late Francis and Catherine Tighe. Brother of the late William McCarthy, Sharon Keene, and Kathy Young.
Paul served honorably in the United States Marine Corps and was a Vietnam War veteran. He received a master’s degree in criminal justice from Northeastern University. After working at Polaroid for 20 years, he went on to become a dedicated member of the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department and later the Marshfield Police Department. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Paul had many interests including sports, fitness and music. He was a lifelong sports enthusiast who especially enjoyed watching the Patriots. Paul was an avid runner and finished l3 marathons including Boston, Newport, and New York. He was a talented drummer for which he received several awards from the Massachusetts Country Music Awards Association.

Funeral from the funeral home on Wednesday, April 4 at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann by the Sea Church , 59l Ocean St., Marshfield at l0 a.m.
