Obituary

George H. Pratt IV, age 35 and a lifelong resident of Wilmington passed away unexpectedly on March 29th. Buddy, as he was affectionately known to his family and friends, was the cherished son of Carol A. Russo of Wilmington and the late George H. Pratt III.

Buddy was raised and educated in Wilmington. He was a member of the Wilmington High School graduating class of 1994. He was currently employed in the Maintenance Dept. of Charles River Labs where he has worked for over twenty years. Buddy had a wonderful sense of humor and making people laugh and smile came easily to him. He was always willing share that quality with his friends, family and coworkers.

In his leisure time Buddy enjoyed golfing and for many years he enjoyed playing softball together with his late father. He also enjoyed participating in the annual Polar Bear Plunge in South Boston. He enjoyed trips to Baxter State Park in Maine where he liked being outdoors hiking and climbing to the peak of Mt. Katahdin. However Buddy's greatest joy was to be with his family. He loved his family and especially spending good quality time with his nephew Baraka. Buddy will be greatly missed by his family, friends and coworkers.

In addition to his loving mother, Buddy is survived by his sisters; Jennifer Pratt of Wilmington, Emily Pratt and her husband Kevin Duthely also of Wilmington. He was the loving uncle of Baraka and Imani. He was the nephew of Jackie Knight and her husband Larry of Ashby, Patricia Boyce of Wilmington, Alice Kennedy and her husband Brian Warren, Jack Pratt and his wife Anne, all of Tewksbury, Paul Pratt of Quincy, Bobby Pratt and his wife Barbara of California and is also survived by many close and loving cousins.

Funeral services will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 374 Main St., WILMINGTON, Tuesday, April 3rd, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave, Wilmington, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Dello Russo Funeral Home will be held on Monday from 4 thru 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
