ALEXANDER J. SCHOLTES, JR., 86, a Hingham resident for over 50 years, died on Thursday, March 29th, 2012 at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. Mr. Scholtes was born in Boston, was raised and educated in Milton and was a 1949 graduate of Boston College. He served with the U.S. Navy in both World War II and the Korean War. Mr. Scholtes worked for the New England Telephone Co. for 15 years, was then associated with Draper Labs at M.I.T. for 8 years before becoming a clerk at the South Boston Postal Annex.
He is survived by two sons; Christopher Scholtes of Hingham and Peter Scholtes of Arkansas. The funeral services and interment are to be private. Visiting hours and flowers omitted by family request. Donations in his memory may be made to the charity of choice.
