LOWELL—Mary M. “Peachy” (Cox) Doyle, a longtime resident of Lowell, died Thursday evening at Sainte Memorial Medical Center. She was the wife of Daniel G. Doyle with whom she celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary.
She was born in Lowell, a daughter of the late Owen E. and Mary C. (Higgins) Cox. She was a graduate of the Riverside Elementary School, Lowell High School, Class of 1942, and the former Lowell Commercial College.
She was a communicant of the Sacred Heart Church and held membership in the Guild of St. Clare.
Surviving her besides her husband are a son: Daniel O. Doyle, of Lowell; a daughter and son-in-law: Judithann and Frank Towne, of Lowell; five grandchildren: Kristen Roy, Caroline Mary, and her husband Kenneth, Dolan; Daniel, Kathleen and John Doyle; two great grandsons: Joshua Daniel Dolan, and William Doyle; two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law: Eileen Rouine, of Lowell; and Virginia and Thomas Rogers, of Lowell; also many relatives and friends.
Friends may call from 4 until 8 PM on Monday, April 12th, at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). Her Funeral Mass to be offered Tuesday morning, April 13th, at 11 AM at the SACRED HEART CHURCH, Lowell. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery, Lowell. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Monastery of St. Clare; 445 River Road; Andover, MA 01810.
