Jane M. (Perham) Meagher, 83, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2012, surrounded by her loving family after a long illness. Her husband of over 50 years, Richard P. Meagher predeceased her in 2001. She leaves a son and his wife, Kevin and Christine Lucey Meagher of Worcester; a son-in-law Owen McNamee of Plantation, FL; four grandchildren Michaela, Michael, John, and Catherine; three sisters Margaret Johnson (widow of Paul N. Johnson) of Holden, Carol Robbins and her husband M. Kenneth of Falmouth, and Judith DeStafano and her husband Joe, of Wellesley; a sister-in-law Eleanor Meagher (widow of William Meagher) of Plymouth; as well as several nieces and nephews. Her daughter, Karen McNamee predeceased her in 2010.
Jane was born in Worcester, daughter of Roger and Grace (Odlun) Perham. She graduated from North High School and Endicott College. She owned and operated a horse farm with her husband and daughter at the Race Lane Farm in Marston's Mills. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel in West Boylston and enjoyed traveling. The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the Cote family for all of their love, care, and devotion; as well as to the Oncology Department at St. Vincent's and Dr. Wendy Bergman for their compassionate care during Jane's illness.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 from 5-7 pm in Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 29 at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel, 111 Worcester St. West Boylston. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery West Boylston. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701 or the American Heart Association 20 Speen Street Framingham, MA 01701.
