Dorothy T. (Carroll) Sprusansky, age 82, died peacefully on Saturday afternoon, March 24, 2012, at her Natick home after a long illness. She was the beloved wife of William F. Sprusansky.
Born in Waltham on May 31, 1929, she was the daughter of the late John and Gertrude (Callahan) Carroll. She was raised in West Newton and was a 1947 graduate of Newton High School.
Dot and Bill married on October 31, 1948, and lived in Wellesley and Cochituate prior to settling in South Natick in 1960. Foremost a mother and homemaker, Dot loved doting on her family and was a wonderful cook. They were very involved with Sacred Heart Parish in South Natick and watched with pride as their growing children received the Sacraments. Dot would gather the children to spend summers at Oldham Pond in Pembroke while Bill worked during the week and joined them on weekends. The couple always looked forward to their “Friday night dates.”
After retirement, the Sprusansky’s bought a cottage in Lebanon, ME, which became their summer retreat. Dot enjoyed having the whole family together for holidays and insisted on preparing all meals and treats herself. Whenever possible she and Bill enjoyed participating in their grandchildren’s events.
Predeceased by her daughter Donna McNulty and son John, she is survived by three sons, William F. Sprusansky, Jr. and wife Norma of S. Portland, ME, Robert K. Sprusansky of Franklin, and Stephen A. Sprusansky and wife Jennifer of Derry, NH; a daughter, Lisa A. Henderson of Hudson, NH; seven grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah, Ryan, Katie, Megan, Sean, and Amanda; four great-grandchildren, Zachary, Jessica, Hunter, and Ryder.
Her Funeral Service will be at the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common, Natick, on Wednesday, March 28th at 11:00a.m. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery.
