Obituary

John F. “Pinky” Lee, passed away suddenly at his home here in Woburn, on Saturday, April 10, he was sixty-one years old.

Born and raised in Woburn, he was the son of the late Lillian Helena (Scott) and John F. Lee Jr. He graduated from Woburn High School and lived here all his life. John retired from the Boston Globe where he worked for over forty years, he enjoyed reading and traveling and being with his friends at the Son of Italy Lodge in Woburn.

John was predeceased by his sister the late Mary T. Meehan, and his aunt Catherine Lee.

He is survived, Aunt Rita Lee of Woburn, his Uncle Jim Hayes of Newbury, his five nephews. Sean P. Meehan of Billerica, Timothy J. Meehan of Newbury, James M. Meehan of Chelmsford, Matthew M. Meehan of Pelham, NH., and Bryan C. Meehan of Winchester, two nieces Mary “Mazie” Chartier of Billerica and Kathleen Chandler of Burlington. Also four cousins, Charles Lee of Woburn, Jayne Lee of Salem, Joan Lee of Melrose and Christopher Hayes of Woburn.

His funeral will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St. Woburn on Thursday, April 15, at 9 a.m., Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Charles Church, 280 Main St. Woburn at 10. Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.

Visiting Hours at the Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4 thru 8.
