Obituary

CHICOPEE – Stella C. (Chmiel) Czepiel, 95, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, March 21, 2012. She passed into Eternal Life at Willimansett West in Chicopee surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family and her wonderful caregivers. She was born at home in Chicopee on April 7, 1916, a beloved daughter of the late John and Petronella (Wrona) Chmiel. She was raised in Chicopee, attended local schools and was a lifelong resident of the city. Stella dedicated her life to her family and she showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She was a wonderful cook, loved to work in her garden and was a wonderful crafter. She was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Walter J. Czepiel, who was Called Home on May 3, 1981. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by: her loving daughter, Emily “Honey” Trudel; her cherished great-granddaughter, Alyssa Janusz; her dear brothers, Henry and Louis Chmiel; and her dear sister, Ann Peresada. She leaves her devoted children: Elaine J. Beliveau and Barbara A. Czepiel, both of Chicopee, Diane H. Bickford of Oakland, ME and Walter S. Czepiel and his wife, Dorothy, of Ludlow; her 10 cherished grandchildren; her 18 cherished great grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren, nephews and nieces. Her funeral will be held on Monday morning, March 26, 2012, beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Notre Dame Cemetery, 63 Lyman Street, South Hadley, MA 01075. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, March 25, 2012 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The parking lot is located in the rear of the funeral home.
