Kathleen L. "Kathy" Sullivan, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, passed into eternal life on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston after a 16 year valiant and unassuming battle with cancer. She was 55 years old.
Kathy was born in Somerville on September 12, 1956 to the late Quinlan J. Sullivan and Louise J. (Kinsley) Sullivan. Kathy grew up in Charlestown and attended St. Mary's Parochial School and then attended Matignon High School in Cambridge and graduated in 1974. Kathy worked for Bank of America in Boston as a Vice President of one of their divisions until her illness forced her to take a leave of absence after 28 years of service.
Kathy is the devoted and loving mother of Harold P. Sullivan of Charlestown. She is the beloved sister of Patrick Sullivan and his wife Janet "Twinkle" of Charlestown, Quinlan Sullivan of Charlestown and Sean Sullivan and his wife Carolanne Owens of Charlestown. She is the loving cousin of Karen and Joe DeRosa of Charlestown and many other cousins and also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Kathy's Funeral on Monday, March 26, 2012 at 9 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 a.m. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, March 25, 2012 from 2 to 6 p.m. in the funeral home.
