David A. Cazemiro, 69, of New Bedford died March 20, 2012 at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Center Crawford after a long illness.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Joseph and Alvida (Aguiar) Cazemiro, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
Mr. Cazemiro was formerly employed by the Massachusetts Highway Department for many years until his retirement. In retirement, he was a van driver for AdCare of Dartmouth.
He was a graduate of New Bedford High School, class of 1960 and later attended Bristol Community College and Cape Cod Community College.
Mr. Cazemiro enjoyed gardening, landscaping, collecting and restoring antique cars and having coffee with friends at Ma's Donuts and the Shawmut Diner.
Survivors include his longtime companion, Cindy Talbot of East Freetown; a sister, Elizabeth Bruce and her husband Herman of Dartmouth; a sister-in-law, Sharon Cazemiro of Quebec; his nieces and nephews, Lisa McGreavy of Mattapoisett, Mark Bruce of Dartmouth, Mary Beth Bruce of Plymouth, Jody Duncan and Michael Cazemiro, both of Quebec; 4 great-nieces and 4 great-nephews.
He was the brother of the late Robert Cazemiro.
His Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 29th at 9 AM in Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours Wednesday, March 28th from 5-8 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
