Carver, MA – Herbert Devaney, Jr., 52, died in Carver after a long illness April 8, 2004. He was the husband of Dawn C. (Hutchinson) Devaney.
He was born in New Bedford, son of Leonora C. (Amaral) Devaney of New Bedford and the late Herbert Devaney, Sr., and was a lifelong resident of the city. He worked as a self-employed painter until his retirement due to illness in 1998.
Mr. Devaney was formerly active in area Boy Scouts with Troops 3 & 13 and a member of the Order of the Arrow.
In addition to his widow and mother, he is survived by 2 daughters: Amber R. Devaney and Myles M. Devaney both of New Bedford; a son: Shawn M. Devaney of New Bedford; 2 brothers: Brian A. Devaney of Edgartown, MA and Jonathan S. Devaney of Troy, Maine; an aunt: Gladys Lomas of New Bedford; and several nieces & nephews.
He was brother of the late Mathew P. Devaney.
