CHICOPEE – Margot H. (Phillip) Meister, 84, of the Fairview section of Chicopee was Called Safely Home on Thursday, March 15, 2012. She passed into Eternal Life at the Loomis House in Holyoke surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family and her wonderful caregivers. She was born in Mainaschaff, Germany on July 16, 1927, a beloved daughter of the late Martin and Anna (Rucker) Phillip. She was raised in Germany and emigrated to the Bronx in New York City in 1960 where she lived until moving to Chicopee in 1965. She was a loving woman who adored her family and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. Besides her parents and her brother, Herbert Phillip, she was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Walter G. Meister, who was Called Home on April 30, 1987. She leaves her loving daughter, Marita T. Schloesser and her husband, Wolfgang, of the Florence section of Northampton; her two cherished granddaughters whom she adored, Simone Prystowski of Southampton, MA and Kristen Mone and her husband, Anthony, of Woodbury, CT; and her two cherished great-grandsons, whom she adored, Joshua and Jacob Prystowski. Her family would like to thank the staff and doctors at Holyoke Medical Center, especially Dr. Thomas Judd as well as the Loomis House in Holyoke and Holyoke Visiting Nurse and Hospice Life Care for their exceptional care and compassion during her long journey home. Her relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday morning, March 23, 2012 at 10 a.m. in Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will be private at the convenience of her family. There are no visiting hours at St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
