Josephine Chiodine, 91, of Tanglewood Lane, died Saturday, March17, 2012 at the Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island Inpatient Center. She was the wife of the late Samuel F. Chiodine.
Born in Sicily, Italy a daughter of the late Carmelo and Victoria (Ferlazzo) Piti. She had lived in North Providence previously living in Johnston.
Josephine enjoyed spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She excelled at cooking, crocheting, ceramics, and sewing, and enjoyed reading and her weekly breakfast meetings with her brothers and sisters.
She leaves her sons, John A. Chiodini of Los Angeles, CA, Richard A. Chiodini of Warwick, a daughter, Pauline Bergassi of Shrewsbury, MA, sisters, Carmela Factor of North Kingstown, Anna Sundstrom of Coventry, brothers, Joseph Piti and Nicholas Piti both of Greenville, her 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was the grandmother of the late Christine Bergassi and sister of the late Mary Iafrate and Henry Piti.
Funeral Thursday at 8:30am from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Smithfield. Visitation Wednesday 4-7pm. Burial in St. Francis Cemetery.
