Schmidt, Robert W. of Hingham, died on March 16, 2012. The beloved husband of the late Dorothy “Dolly” (Campbell) Schmidt. Loving father of Sandra L. Willis of Hull, Patty Connors of Weymouth, Flora Page of Pembroke and Roland Millman of Plymouth. Brother of Richard Schmidt of Roslindale and the late Joseph Schmidt. Robert is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A longtime Hingham resident, he worked as a self-employed upholster before taking a position with the Hingham School Department, where he retired after 22 years. He served in the United States Army. He enjoyed walking around World’s End. The essence of his life was his family. Robert and his family enjoyed many summers at Ellis Haven Camp Ground in Plymouth. His children and grandchildren will cherish the memories they have of their time together. He will be sadly missed by all of them.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral service on Wednesday at 11 AM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM.
Visitation will be prior to the service on Wednesday morning beginning at 10am.
Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
