Mary Magdelena "Maggie" Moorehead, age 83, died Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. She was born April 12, 1928 in Poplar Springs, Calhoun County, MS to the late Edward and Ivon Spratlin Foshee. Maggie worked until age 79 and retired from the Lafayette County School District. She was a member of Paris Baptist Church.
Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM Sunday, March 18, 2012 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral Services will follow the visitation at 3:00 PM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. Gerald Shook officiating. Burial will be in the Paris Cemetery in Paris, MS with Derek Smallwood, Jamie Fredette, Jody Lowe, Sam Guest, Blake Moorehead, and Dwayne Bullard serving as pallbearers.
Maggie is survived by one daughter, Glenda Smallwood (Jerry) of Hernando, MS; two sons, Ron Guest (Sandra) of Oxford, MS and Jeff Moorehead (Beverly) of Paris, MS; a step-son, Harold Lynn Moorehead (Kay) of Greenwood, MS; three brothers, Gene Foshee of Southaven, MS, Rodger Foshee of Oxford, MS and Ray Foshee of Collierville, TN; six grandchildren, Derek Smallwood (Pennie) of Hernando, MS, Brandy Fredette (Jamie) of Monticello, MS, Claire Lowe (Jody) of Oxford, MS, Sam Guest of Oxford, MS, Blake Moorehead of Senatobia, MS and Alicia, Marlee, Delaney and Dayton Moorehead of Paris, MS; seven great-grandchildren, Madison and Mallori-Kate Smallwood; Troy, Jamie Claire and Luke Fredette; Madi Kate Wallace and Kenley Moorehead.
In addition to her parents, Maggie was preceded in death by her first husband, Wilburn Guest (1965) , her second husband, Harold Moorehead (1977); a grandson, Tim Smallwood; two sisters, Flo Adkins and Jo Killough; and three brothers, J. W. Foshee, James Foshee and Lynn Foshee.
