Obituary

FALL RIVER … Leo J. Proulx, 55 of Fall River passed away at Charlton Memorial Hospital on March 13, 2012 following a long illness.
He was the husband of Cheryl A. (Cabral) Proulx.
Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Gerald and Pauline (Fournier) Proulx and had been a lifelong resident of this city.
Mr. Proulx was a veteran of the United States Army during Vietnam; he was a member of American Legion Frank Allen Wilcox Post 126 of Fall River, communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, Fall River and a self-employed roofer, also working at Capri Textile. He enjoyed puzzles, gardening and playing sports.
Along with his wife, survivors include a daughter: Mendi Lynn Perry of Fall River, a son: Derek J. Proulx of Fall River, 2 sisters: Cheryl Assad and husband Gregory of South Yarmouth, MA, Joann Proulx of Assonet, Dear Friends: Lenny and Lisa Gonsalves, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Saturday, March 17 at 9 AM at the SOUTH COAST FUNERAL HOME, 1555 Pleasant St. Fall River, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, 15 Thomas St. Fall River. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Fall River Animal Rescue League, 474 Durfee St. Fall River, MA 02720. At the request of the family, interment will be private. Calling hours will be Friday, 5-8 PM.
